Reviews

We had such a relaxing time at Hummingbird Haven. We really hated to leave. The cabin was so great, fully stocked kitchen with everything you would need. This place was very clean, I’m a clean freak so I check everything out. The hot tub was very relaxing, soothing your aches and pains away.  We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds as they would come morning and afternoon. We only left twice during our entire stay, once to run over to Ellijay the other time was to go to Murphy NC.   I would highly recommend this place to anyone. One other thing, the boys had a great time as well.~Guest Book~September 2016~The Painter’s

We give it 5 Stars!! Fantastic location, great cabin. Everything we needed, very well run. Clean, nice, and homey. Everything we wanted! ~VRBO Review ~ March 2016

We stayed in Hummingbird Haven.  Beautiful cabin and the view from the back deck was stunning.  I loved watching all the hummingbirds eat from the feeders they had hanging.  They also provide a dog bed and dog bowls at this pet friendly cabin, which is nice.  Definitely will go back to this one! ~ Yelp  Review ~ September 2015

Another awesome stay with Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals!! We stayed at the Hummingbird Haven in Ellijay and the cabin was incredible. When we opened the front door you could see straight through the full wall of windows at the most breath-taking view of the mountains. It was super clean and very spacious ( next time we’ll bring the whole family). The bed was soooo comfortable plus nice and dark so we were able to sleep in. Enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the deck in the morning and a quick dip in the hot tub before we left on Sunday. Hopefully we won’t have to wait 3 years to come back again.~ Yelp Review ~ June 2015

“This cabin was an absolute delight and perfect. It was beautiful, fully equipped with every item needed or desired to enjoy our time here. Everything we needed in the kitchen, grilling, all utensils, blow dryer, etc. If you need it this cabin had it. And the thoughtful touches of enough paper towels, other paper products to get you by before shopping at the grocery store. Finally, I must add that the place was immaculate! What a complete delight. We will definitely come back.”~ VRBO review ~ May 2015~Koni

One of my favorite spots by far is the North Georgia Mountains!! This little gem of an area is just now starting to hit the map with a huge thanks to the little mountain towns of Blue Ridge and Ellijay, GA. A few years ago, this was just a sleepy little hamlets with some antique shops and a few Mom and Pop restaurants that all closed by 6 PM. It was still a wonderful weekend escape back then, with such a peaceful, serene feeling of being in the woods all by yourself, no traffic, no neighbors, not much of anything but great hiking, fishing and being one with nature. You can still capture some of that original energy when you visit North Georgia but now there’s the added attractions of upscale restaurants, boutiques, art exhibits, huge apple farms, wineries, zip-lines, tubing and so much more. The Georgia Mountains have blossomed into much then just a weekend adventure. You can now pack your bags and your family for a week or longer and be as busy…or as laid back as you want.

There are so many things that I enjoy when visiting both Ellijay and Blue Ridge, it would take pages to write about but here are few high-lights of the things that I like to do.

#1– Hiking!! There are tons of great trails all over the North Georgia area, with some well known names, like the Benton-MacKaye Trail and of course the Appalachian starting point at Springer Mountain. Plus you’ll find an abundance of smaller, lesser known trails for all skill levels, some with amazing mountain views and others down by creeks and rivers. You can grab a map at either the Blue Ridge or Ellijay Welcome Center or Chambers of Commerce.

#2-Water activities- There are dozens of places to cool off in North Georgia on a hot summers day. Some of my favorite activities include tubing down the Toccoa or Coosawattee River. This is the perfect lazy mans sport and a fairly inexpensive way to spend half a day in the Georgia Mountains. Just rent a tub for a few bucks, bring along your sunscreen, hat, floating cooler and just sit back and chill as you slowly drift down the river. I have so many fond memories that were made with family and friends as we laughed and splashed our way down the river. For a bit more money ( actually a lot more money), you can rent a boat on Lake Blue Ridge, this is an incredibly beautiful lake and the perfect place to water ski, tub, paddle board or just find a quiet cove where you can sit back and take in the breath-taking beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

#3-Exploring the Apple Farms- Most of the farms are open 9 months out of the year and a few in Blue Ridge ( Merciers) are open year round. Ellijay has at least a dozen out 52E where you can pick and sample apples, cider and a variety of baked goods, some have petting zoo’s and all have delicious fried pies. These are also great places to find some fun souvenirs to bring home from trip to the Georgia Mountains.

#4-Shopping. Yes, I love to come to the North Georgia Mountains to go shopping. Downtown Blue Ridge has an incredible amount of affordable boutiques with some of the cutest, most up to date fashion trends, including one of kind jewelry, shoes and more. There are even several outfitters, fishing and bike stores for the guys, so you can send them on their way while you get to slowly shop and find that perfect outfit to wear when you get back to the “big city”.

#5– Restaurants- Oh yes, tons of great places to eat in mountains of North Georgia. If fine dining is your thing, don’t miss an opportunity to dine at “Harvest on Main”. Unique and enticing entrees grouped with delicious wines and specialty cocktails, the perfect Saturday night hot spot. Other great restaurants in Blue Ridge include Black Sheep, Christie Lee’s Courtyard and Chesters. So many more to mention just depends on your mood…beer and burgers ( Blue Ridge Brewery), wine and tapas (The Vine) or a nice bowl of Pasta (Angelina’s).

This is just a small sampling of things I like to do on a weekend trip to Blue Ridge and Ellijay, GA. The list of activities could go on and on. I will mention that my first decision before heading to the mountains is picking out the perfect cabin rentals, which I always find with Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals. In my next blog I will you give you a list of some of my favorite mountain cabins and why I choose them for that particular trip.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, private place to relax on the water and Laughing Waters was exactly what we hoped it would be. A really nice location close to Blue Ridge and a great, clean cabin with everything we needed. The fire pit, hot tub, and the screened porch overlooking the water were perfect. If you’re into hiking, the Benton MacKaye trail was right up the road and was an excellent 6 mile round trip hike. Our visit was for 3 days and we loved every minute!! Perfect mountain getaway, it was everything we thought it would be. Hot tub was so relaxing, the screened porch by the creek was a “10” and the cabin itself was so cozy with the cutest cabin decor. Even our two dogs enjoy it and played in the creek.” ~Guestbook ~ September 2012~Kathy A.

“We stayed here for our 9th anniversary and it was wonderfully relaxing. My husband caught a 6 inch Rainbow Trout in the creek and took full use of the hammock. We hope to return again this summer.” ~Guestbook ~ July 2012~The Davis Family

Cabin Rental vs. Hotel Stays https://www.morningbreezecabinrentals.com/cabin-rental-vs-hotel-stays/ https://www.morningbreezecabinrentals.com/cabin-rental-vs-hotel-stays/#respond Tue, 11 Apr 2017 13:47:30 +0000 https://www.morningbreezecabinrentals.com/?p=37678 Continue reading Cabin Rental vs. Hotel Stays ]]> So you’ve been thinking about visiting the Ellijay or Blue Ridge Georgia area for quite some time now and aren’t sure where to start! One of the first questions you may ask yourself is if you should stay in a hotel or a cabin. For many, the answer is obvious. North Georgia Mountain Cabins offer a lot more amenities than the average hotel would even think about offering! The benefits of having a cabin all to yourself versus a small room with tons of other guests all around you are endless. Think about all the extra space a Mountain cabin rental has to offer? How about the spacious deck for sightseeing, the private hot tub to soak all your worries away, unique outdoor fire-pits for roasting marshmallows, game tables or even private docks for fishing. All ideal spots to hang out with your family or friends making some incredible memories to last for years to come.

Still not sure about a cabin rentals versus a hotel room, well let’s give you a few more good reason; Have we mentioned that some of our cabins site are on the water? Imagine walking out onto your private deck and being able to walk to the river alone or with that someone special, not along with 50 other guests staying at the hotel. Or a mountain top rental with just enough rockers for you and your family to enjoy rather then the community area where you share the space with a bunch of strangers. How about soaking in the hot tub at night and gazing at the stars from the deck of Stargazer or being mesmerized in the views from back deck of Bear Point.

Not sure we have swayed you yet on cabin rental versus a hotel room but let’s really sweeten the deal. Many hotels do not offer pet friendly rooms, which can make it a real challenge when extended family is coming along. Luckily, all of our Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals are pet-friendly and pets stay free! No one wants to leave your furry family member behind and now you don’t have to! Of course there may be a rare occasion where a hotel may be the best choice for you and your family, but if you are looking for a relaxation, privacy and a chance to get away from it all, renting a North Georgia Cabin Rental is a must!

Deciding to rent a Blue Ridge Cabin Rental means that the cabin will be the focal point of the trip rather than just a place to sleep at night. Book a place where you and your family can create memories and reconnect with one another. All of our cabins come with a fully equipped kitchens and offer the perfect setting to prepare a meal together. Afterwards, play a board game with the family. Watch a movie or take advantage of the game table often offered in our Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals.

We have cabins for every budget and have many knowledgeable reservationists ready to help you choose the perfect cabin for your next vacation.Well, hopefully we have made the “cabin rental versus a hotel room” decision easy, don’t just book a room, book an entire cabin and we promise that you won’t be disappointed with your decision!
