As the last of the holiday decorations are being put away, it's time to start thinking about the next vacation season....Spring-break!! Late March and early April are ideal times to vacation in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. The Wild Dogwoods, Cherry Blossoms and Mountain Laurels ares starting to bloom and you can see them in abundance throughout the vast mountains of North Georgia. The temperatures are warm enough in the day to enjoy all the outdoor activities and cool enough in the evening to relax around the indoor fireplace or roast marshmallows over an open fire.

Spring-break is a great time for the kids to get some down time before that final school semester. Winter is almost over and after being cooped up inside for several months everyone is ready to get back out into the great outdoors and breath some fresh air....fresh mountain air to be exact!

If you are looking for some Spring- break activities, definitely consider trout fishing. Rock Creek, the Toccoa River and Jacks River are all well stocked and brimming with trout just ready to jump on your line and make a delicious meal for you and your family. If hiking in North Georgia is your cup of tea, there are hundreds of great trails to choose from. Check out Long Branch Loop, it's an easy two mile loop that's great fun for the whole family. Or, if you enjoy something a bit more challenging, the Stanely Gap trail is just under 5 miles and much deserving of a soak in the hot tub when you're finished. Another wonderful trail is Long Branch Falls, where you'll find a double waterfall and gorgeous scenery along the way. Have you considered a day of horse-back riding through the North Georgia Mountains? There are quite a few wonderful stables in both Ellijay and Blue Ridge, GA. Cowgirl Up Stables in Blue Ridge has very reasonable rates and some great packages including sunset and picnic rides....perfect for families or a romantic date in the mountains of North Georgia. Before you call it a day be sure stop at Merciers Orchards for some fried apple pies, cider, corn relish and a variety of other delicious treats. There's something there for everyone and a perfect ending to a perfect day in the mountains.

After an action packed afternoon of outdoor activities and maybe some sight seeing in downtown Blue Ridge you'll be ready to head back to your luxury cabin rental. As the sun slowly sets and the temperatures start to drop, there's nothing like relaxing on the back deck with some hot chocolate or maybe a nice glass of wine and watching the sun set over the spectacular Georgia Mountains. Morning Breeze Cabin Rentals has some incredible family cabins and many of them have hot tubs, fire-pits and outdoor fireplaces. You'll also find some with games rooms, pool tables and of course they are pet friendly...because Fido is family too!!
