Trick or Treating in the North Georgia Mountains

It’s that time of year again when all those adorable little ghouls and goblins come knocking on your door with a harmony of “trick or treat” in hopes of receiving a small bag of sugary goodies. The North Georgia Mountains are no different and there are plenty of safe places for our little munchies to come a knocking.

In Ellijay, the annual downtown Trick or Treating is set for 5 to 8 P.M. on Monday, October 31st, 2022 with most of the activity being focused on North Main Street, River Street and of course the square. Most of the local businesses in the downtown area will decorate their windows with fun Halloween decor and give out candy directly from there shops while others may participate in the “Trunk or Treat”. A slight twist on tradition where a businesses or organization fills up a car trunk with treats and parks in a designated spot. There will also be plenty of scary attractions and games for the kids to participate in at the First Baptist Church’s Fall Festival as well as a costume contest.

In Downtown Blue Ridge, the fun begins at 6:00 P.M. with the local stores and vendors inviting both parents and kids alike to dress up and collect some goodies at their doors. There is a costume contest which starts at 6:15 P.M. and you are welcome to dress up and bring your pets too for some additional fun. This event end at 8:30 P.M. but the fun continues in the park at dusk with a Halloween Movies for everyone.
